Dancing on pointe stems from the romantic desire to overcome gravity. Developing strength and balance needed to seemingly weightless to dance is central to this course.
Requirement: at least 2 years experience on pointe and you still need one classical ballet course once a week.
You learn pirouettes and jumps on pointes and relevés on one leg with the working leg on 45° or 90°. It is important to follow a regular ballet course 1x per week next to the spitzen lesson. You can do this at Usva, or at an other ballet school.
Cily’s approach is process-oriented: it is not about an end result, but about the road to it. Musicality, use of space, coordination and the alternation of tension and relaxation is central to the lessons.
In this course all excercises are explained in Dutch and in English. This course starts on Thursday 5 February 2026 at 19.00 and will be 15 weeks in a row on the same day and time. The course will take place in the Big Dance Studio in Usva.
